New signing
Taine heading to Warner’s Bridge!
We’re delighted to announce the signing of Taine Mason, who will link up with the senior squad next month when he arrives from New Zealand.
Welcome Taine!
SRFC OPPORTUNITY
Dear Southend RFC member
Essex RFU has introduced a new scheme for club volunteers that will allow a volunteer to receive an ILM (City & Guilds) award in Leadership and Management Level 3, following completion of a specific project within the club; please see attached.
Unlike other volunteer schemes this gives the successful candidate a professionally recognised qualification which can only enhance an individual’s CV.
We’d like to target young individuals (age 16-25), as we see the benefit that this could bring to the club in developing the next generation of leaders. That said, we would be happy to hear from any candidate who would like to be considered.
Please read the attached for further information. If you or anyone that you know is interested in volunteering for this initiative then please contact David Short davidshortiam@sky.com or Andy Hutchison thorpebaymarine@btconnect.com by the 12th November 2025.
Many thanks

On Sunday, I attended the Southend Rugby Club ‘Mini and Midi’s’ Festival
The day was everything you would expect from such an exceptional local rugby club, it was packed with youth teams from across Essex taking part in an early season fixture.
The sense of community, teamwork and fun, was palpable!
A particular huge thank you to Paul Bach, Youth & Mini’s Chairman, and Lianne Brauton, Head of Minis and Midis, who took time out of her busy schedule to show me around the various pitches, teams, and their coaching staf
Having Fun

New Website
An introduction to the new and improved club site.
If you are reading this then you have made it to the NEW Southend Rugby Club Website!
We’ve refreshed our online home to reflect the energy, ambition, and community spirit that makes Southend Rugby Club what it is today. This update isn’t just a facelift – it’s a step forward in how we connect with players, supporters, and the wider community.
Why the change?
Modernisation – Rugby is always evolving, and so are we. Our new website is built to be faster, easier to use, and accessible from any device.
Standing tall against local competition – With so many great clubs in the area, we want to make sure Southend Rugby stands out, not only on the pitch but also online.
Better team information – Fixtures, results, and updates are now easier to find, so you’ll always know what’s happening across all age groups and squads.
Social connections – We’re proud of our vibrant community, and the new site makes it simple to follow our latest news, photos, and videos across social channels.
Membership management – Join, renew, and stay connected with the club at the click of a button.
Faster to update – Our new platform allows us to keep everything fresh, relevant, and up to date, so you’re always in the loop.
Promoting grassroots rugby – At its heart, Southend Rugby is about encouraging more people to play, support, and love the game. Our new site helps us reach a larger audience and showcase everything we offer.
This is more than a website – it’s the digital clubhouse for Southend Rugby. Whether you’re a player, supporter, or someone new to the sport, we hope this makes it easier than ever to be part of our journey.
Now that we’ve shared why we made the change, let’s take a look at what’s new:
A new, more informative and inviting home page – Get the latest club news, fixtures, results, and events all in one easy to access place (simply click the logo to go home).
Improved navigation – Finding your team, match details, or membership info is now quicker and easier.
Dedicated team pages – Each squad has its own space, with fixtures, results, and updates tailored to them.
Integrated social feeds – See the best of our photos, videos, and matchday moments without leaving the site.
Online membership and payments – Join or renew in just a few clicks, with everything handled securely online.
Mobile-friendly design – Whether you’re at home or pitch-side, the site works seamlessly on your phone or tablet.
Regular updates – Thanks to our new platform, the website will stay fresh and up to date with the latest information.
This new site has been built to bring the club closer to our players, families, and supporters, while helping us welcome new people into the Southend Rugby community.
This new website is just the beginning of our journey to make Southend Rugby Club more accessible, connected, and welcoming for everyone
We’re dedicated to improving our digital services for our members and supporters, and your feedback is a big part of that. Let us know what you think of the new site, what’s working well, and what you’d like to see in the future. Together, we can make sure our digital clubhouse grows just as strong as the one we share on the pitch.
