Under 5s and 6s
The Under 5s and 6s rugby team is all about introducing young children to the sport in a fun, engaging, and supportive environment. At this age, the focus is not on competition or contact but on building confidence, coordination, and teamwork through play-based activities and games.
Training sessions are full of energy and laughter, designed to help children develop basic movement skills such as running, dodging, catching, and passing. These activities are carefully tailored to keep children active and involved, using imaginative games that spark creativity while introducing the fundamentals of rugby.
Communication is a big part of the learning journey. Children are encouraged to listen to instructions, take turns, and talk with their teammates. Through fun team-based games, they begin to understand the value of working together and supporting one another, learning how to cheer on their friends and celebrate group success.
Safety is always at the heart of everything. Sessions are run by trained coaches who understand how to work with this age group, ensuring all activities are safe, inclusive, and age-appropriate. The emphasis is on participation, enjoyment, and developing a love for the game.
Ultimately, the Under 5s and 6s team is about building confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging — laying the foundations for a future in rugby while making sure every child leaves with a smile on their face.
