Priors
Southend RFC 2nd team are more affectionately known as the 'Priors' and they have a steeped tradition of beign a high performing 2nd XV in Essex and in recent years have faced many other club 1st XVs.
Each week the 2nd XV field a side which is made up of 1st/2nd XV players - there is one Senior Squad and once the 1st XV and replacements have been picked, the remaining players do battle under the Priors banner before going into consideration for 1st XV honours the following week!
There are a core group of blokes who only want to play 2nd XV rugby (age, family commitments etc. are the main drivers for this) - they are all still considered part of the Senior Squad however.
When and were do we train?
July - Monday, Tuesday & Thursday
August - April - Tuesday & Thursday
Arrival between 18:30 and 19:00
Training ordinarily runs from 19:30 - 20:45
Early arrival allows for physio activity to take palce before training, get strapping and assements out of the way early to save interfering with the session, and allows those without the need for treatment or assessment to undertake extras on key skill or performance areas that have been highlighted to players by the coaching panel.

Saturday afternoons
Times: 15:00 for all home games and variable times for away fixtures of either 14:00, 14:30 or 15:00 with the slight posibility that a fixture may be moved to a late afternoon/evening (all times are updated regularly and these are for guidance only)
