Southend Saxons are delighted to announce that James Wright will join the club as head of Athletic Performance.
The new partnership with Element Training will allow our senior players to work closely under James’ guidance throughout the season improving personal condition and as a result improving collective levels of performance.
James has worked in the health and fitness industry for 14 years - straight from university.
Having worked in multiple areas of the industry his passion has always been sports performance and conditioning, working with sports men and women to make them better athletes. James has worked with multiple sports teams over the years implementing on and off season programmes while also working on a one to one basis with individuals from a multitude of sports. James has spent a large portion of his career (and still do to this day) personal training individuals and groups helping them to achieve their own individual goals.
Speaking about joining the club, James said “Having taken a few sessions on an interim basis last season it was clear that Southend is a club with a clear direction of where they want to go. It’s a great group of people that all seem to be working together to make some great things happen which is exciting to be a part of”.
Director of Rugby Josh Ward was also delighted saying “James visited us last season for a couple of sessions. To have him more regularly is massive for us. He is a first class coach, he’s worked with a wide variety of athletes and has incredible experience behind him which will significantly add to the quality of product we supply. He’s a great guy and will fit in perfectly to what we’re about here at Southend”
